New songs… new shows… new faces… NEWS FROM THE NEST!

Dear Birds…

I hope this newsletter finds you well and you are enjoying the start of the summer!

A lot has been going on in bird-camp over the last few weeks… We’ve been recording a new EP, gigging and planning many exciting things for your lucky ears to experience…

As some of you now know, recently we were approached my a Mr Marc R Norris (formerly from one of my all time favourite bands, The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster. If you haven’t heard them… well, seriously where have you been!?) Marc is an incredible songwriter, and is now in the process of becoming a music producer.

After a quick pub conversation over numerous pints Marc and myself talked about the possibility of recording and producing a new Birdeatsbaby EP. Very excitedly we got to work on 5 new tracks which are now in their final stages of recording… Also helping us with this project (which is yet to be titled) are two of Marc’s friends Nathan Lornie (Co-Producer) & Josh Pullen (Engineer).

So far we have consumed many many bottles of wine and more than likely pissed off my neighbours by singing opera through the walls but… it’s sounding good! Here is a couple of photos from the recording so far:

This is our make-shift vocal booth where we taped duvets to the walls… it worked amazingly well as Keely here demonstrates!

Philippa doing her thing

We’re going to need more ducktape… and wine…

We have no title for this EP as yet but hope for a release around September time….

On the 29th & 30th (yes, that’s this weekend coming) we are proud and happy to be playing with Richard Kapp & The Gowns (from our European tour last year) for two shows in London & Brighton. If you don’t already know about these shows make sure you don’t miss them!! This is Richard his band’s UK debut!
Tickets for the Brighton show are available HERE and the London show is just pay on the door so get there early to avoid disappointment! Richard Kapp is on early and so are we so make sure you’re at the venue for 7.30pm!

LONDON SATURDAY 29TH MAY – SPICE OF LIFE, SOHO, 7.30PM, £5 (pay on the door)

BRIGHTON 30TH MAY – LATEST MUSIC BAR, BRIGHTON, 7.30PM, £5 (buy tickets/pay on the door)

FINALLY, and I’m sure you’re as tired as I am now… if you would like to see Birdeatsbaby on stage at The Green Man Festival this August then please please please VOTE FOR US HERE! It could mean we share a stage with the likes of Joanna Newsom!!!

Well! That about wraps it up for now! …we also have some other rather big news bubbling away but cannot be more specific at this time… all we can say at the moment is that it involves America… and a plane… and some birds… oh wait I think I said too much

Love & Feathers,

Mishkin xx
